ARTIST DEVELOPMENT

Artist Development is something Sal has been doing for nearly two decades. He’s always had a special interest in helping aspiring Artists to be seen in their best light and get the attention they deserve. Sal takes all the experience of working with major Artists and applies the same principles to independent artists to help them maximize their time and efforts to get ahead and avoid the pitfalls in the music business.

You would start with a 2-hour consultation where Sal gets to know you as an Artist, your personal story, career goals, as well as answer any questions you may have. He will then offer steps towards the development of your skills, songs, sound and image for creating a cohesive brand for the current marketplace. The goal is to help you refine, focus and strengthen your talents so you can stand out in a crowd with a definable product. You’ll leave the meeting with a clear road map of what your next steps should be.

Depending on where you are in your progress, you may be ready for recording after the initial meeting or require one or more 1-hour follow-up consultations. Everyone is different and Sal’s goal is to help you be prepared to present the best version of yourself to the world.

Consultations can either be in person or via FaceTime.

Please contact Sal for current rates and availability.

CLIENT TESTIMONIES

I don’t talk ‘musician talk’. I don’t know how to speak the exact terminology used in the studio to producers to communicate what I am essentially wanting for the song. For years, this ‘handicap’ held me back in the studio, never allowing me to  create the kind of music I was always aching to create. It sucked.
Then, I met Sal.

Sal spoke ‘West’…he listened intricately to all the ‘bells and whistles’ I was wanting and hearing in my head to suit the song properly. He understood everything I was trying to spit out, sonically, emotionally, everything. His talent is colossal, it’s big, and it’s brilliant. Anything Sal touches, he leaves a little piece of sparkle on earth. He is a soft spoken giant with an ear for putting the ‘beautiful’ back into song. He’ll never tell you he’s awesome, he just is. You can pretend to care, but you can’t pretend to show up. Sal cared. And Sal showed up. And now, I have the ”sparkle’ that I’ve always wanted in my hands. Finally.

Recording Artist, Songwriter, 2014 America’s Got Talent #2 Finalist

jodi-marrMy great friend and colleague Sal Oliveri is the consummate Producer/Songwriter with a keen ear for the story behind the song . He is one of the most honest and caring people in the business with a heart of gold.  His impeccable musical taste and personal integrity is without compare.

In the studio Sal brings out the little moments in just the right way track wise and creates a sound unique to each artist.  He is a stellar musician and arranger who is a specialist in the nuancing and finessing involved in helping an artist shine through the initial sonic presentation that is so important for any debut. He has a knack for picking out a single tailored to the specific artist’s strengths and it is always an honour and an adventure to go on any musical journey with him.

chris-ogI love how music is written purposefully and serves as a tool to help those who hear find an honest place for their emotions. Sal Oliveri gets that. He digs in with the same purpose and passion as the creators and Sal always “sticks the landing”.  That makes him a great creative partner! Thanks for caring about the music Sal!!

I have the privilege of writing songs… after laboring over the words and music for days, weeks, months, sometimes years… the last thing I want to do is to lose my song in the demo process.
Sal Oliveri has produced, engineered and orchestrated dozens of songs for me over the last few years. “The House That Built Me”… 2010 CMA and ACM song of the year by Miranda Lambert (also nominated for 2 Grammy’s), “Hello World” single for Lady Antebellum, “My Little Girl” Tim McGraw, “When you have a child” Reba… just to name a few. Sal creates a studio environment where I can focus on my “art”… and the song comes alive in his hands. Shhh… don’t tell anyone… I want it to be my Secret weapon. Thanks a million, Sal… literally!

– Tom Douglas (Hit Songwriter)

Sal has the amazing gift and skill set to serve the artist and the art with due diligence. He is a superb engineer, producer and musician equally, and not weak in one of those areas. He has great ideas and an acute ability to sonically bring those ideas to life. It is a privilege for me to work with Sal, specifically his commitment to excellence and his ability to get along so well with people which makes the process all the more fun.

Recording Artist and Songwriter

When I’m in Sal Oliveri’s studio I feel creatively inspired and… safe. I consider Sal to be a true artist. He understands the technical side of the studio as well as anyone on the planet, yet he never looses sight of the ultimate importance of -heart- in the recording process. From playing the piano, creating a string pad or drum loop to mixing the song, Sal is a -master-… and I’m blessed to call him my friend.
